International Due Diligence for a Swiss Construction Materials Group
Fixit, a major Swiss manufacturer of mortars for construction companies, was looking for an international firm of consultants capable of offering it up-market services to complete a European acquisition project involving companies in France, Belgium and Holland within a bilingual Franco-German environment.
After contacting the “Big Four” audit and consultancy firms along with a number of national practices, Fixit finally settled its choice on COFFRA as the firm best placed to provide the service required in this particular context, and to do so in the shortest possible time.
Two COFFRA partners rapidly took charge of the assignment, setting up a data room in Brussels to coordinate activities with three MRI-member firms in Belgium and Holland. The Fixit managers attending the data-room sessions were impressed by the organization, coordination and efficiency and by the summary report drafted in German in record time by the COFFRA partners.
The following week, Fixit appointed a law firm working with COFFRA on a regular basis to draft the acquisition offer, and asked COFFRA to draw up an audit schedule for the three target companies.
